Hornby International UK - Independent importer and Distributor
Interim Chief Operating Officer
¨ To liaise with existing UK/ROI distributor (Hornby plc) of the Hornby International ranges and prepare for migration as they wished to relinquish their role. They recommended the transfer of distributorship to new independent company to the Head of International division in Italy. Build presentation and team to win tender for new distributor for my client. Win distributorship against stiff competition & given 22 days to prepare for launch.
¨ Following decision to migrate distributorship, act as COO, handling new business processes, arranging contact and distribution strategy, run PR and deal with launch of new venture.
¨ Launch new firm, website and sales force within 14 days of contracts being signed. Target top performing dealers regarding sales post 2008. Host International sales exhibition as part of UK Trade show in January 2009. Prepare business to hand over to long term management by 15th Feb 2009.

Giles Insurance Brokers - A leading industry 'Consolidator'

¨ Jan - May 08 Created Marketing and Business development teams & department functions for Giles Insurance Brokers as an Interim Manager. Developed strategy for organic growth of company, its marketing plans & websites.
¨ Jun - Sept 08 After Charterhouse (Private Equity) purchased Giles Insurance Brokers, asked to remain with company as Head of Sales Support, Marketing & e-Commerce.
¨ Launched new transactional website, moved PR in house. Launched new products for Commercial & Personal Lines insurance teams. Created Operational plans & budgets.
¨ Assisted in development and launch of Wholesale and Underwriting strategies increasing profits by 5% immediately.
¨ Managed the post acquisition and integration process for Operations (non Sales functions) of eleven Insurance Brokers purchased by Giles in 2008.

At Legal & General, Tim Mulhall managed the Strategic Change Programme to grow the sales of their Independent Advisers division from No7 to No3 in their market place in 2 years. The change programme continued to deliver benefits after it completed allowing L&G to take Second Place by sales the following year.
He was also responsible for the implementation of 'Pension Simplification' in the sales force and a unique cross division call centre.

Undertook market review of Courier services and achieved 20% reduction in costs - without changing firms.
Identified Grant funding from EU for 'Diversification' managed project and obtained 50% of project costs from provider, £15,000.
A company which had invested £122M in new computer system for it's staff but had failed to consider need to support existing and new users on system. Existing technical help desk was too expensive to provide business use support. Tim devised a solution using a new 'Business' help desk - Recruited, trained and opened 8 desk call centre in 4 weeks.
